The Gaza War, Backward and Forward

Where it came from and where it could go to

I am going to be writing posts about the Gaza war for awhile. It has now replaced the Ukraine conflict as the main source of war porn and geopolitical speculations. Some people denounce this, and remain heavily engaged in operation Z.

Other people wonder why other wars, just as horrific for civilians, are not given any attention. The war in Yemen seems to be finally winding down. France seems to have backed off attacking its West African client states.

The awful war on the civilian population of eastern Congo grinds on, little noticed by anyone beyond the area. There is no news about Rohingya anymore. The war on the Haitian people seems to be in a stalemate, with no one willing to join a new “stabilizing mission”.

All over the world wars are going on which fit a loose definition of genocide. Populations which somebody wishes would go away are being suppressed or uprooted. There is no way to focus on all of them.

What must be focused on in these times are the wars which could lead to world war and nuclear Armageddon. For two years that has been the Ukraine situation. However, the danger there has subsided, at least temporarily.

For some time now there has not been much to say about Ukraine that is really new. It is clear that Mother Russia has won and is in no hurry. She is waiting for her enemies to fold.

That does not mean the conflict in Ukraine is over. We are waiting for a new stage to begin. The Ukraine Nazis, and the evil people who control NATO and back them, will never quit.

Bully plays victim

Right now the Gaza crisis is danger number one. It is much more dangerous than the Ukraine war ever was. It is in fact the most dangerous situation we have had yet, as the world gets ever more dangerous.

What makes this so dangerous is that Israel is a nuclear power. Weirdly, this only seems to be news to Israeli citizens and to Zionist Jews or Christian sympathizers outside Israel. In Israel you can get a long jail sentence for talking about the Israeli nuclear program.

Outside Israel, it is well known that it possesses at least eighty nuclear warheads and probably more. They have a missile called Jericho 2 which can reach most of the planet. They have submarines which can launch nuclear cruise missiles, though these are not nuclear propelled.

I have experienced one ardent Christian supporter of Israel who was amazed at this information. She had never even heard the word ‘Zionism’ before and had no idea what it meant. She was flabbergasted by maps showing the shrinking area of Palestinian habitation in the original mandate Palestine.

She became much less supportive of Israel. There are fewer of these people around all the time. Support for Israel among the western public has been based on misinformation and no information. Support for Israel is now increasingly limited to hard core Jewish Zionists, fundamentalist Christian Zionists and ultra rightists, and of course, neoliberal politicians.

Israel’s nuclear playthings are a major reason why most of the world is so reluctant to stand up to Israel. Knowledge of them is a cause of declining support for Israel among western publics. The Israeli nukes make it harder for them to play the victim but much easier to be the bully.

——————————-

There is a deeper reason why Atlanticist countries act as though they are being run by Israel. It is also the reason why Israel has become much more belligerent and much more dangerous now. It is also more than just the ideology of Zionism.

I have already explained much about Zionism in the first two Gaza related posts I did. In the first one, I described its origins and how it has rolled up to the present. This produced the usual name calling and straw man attacks, from people who were not fanatic Zionist operatives, who considered themselves to be opposed to Zionism.

One blogger in particular, who had developed a big discussion group around his project, supporting Russia’s ‘side’ of the Ukraine war, thought he was an expert on the holocaust. He was blind to how indoctrinated he was by the Zionist narrative about it. Still, he and his little friends motivated me to research Zionism and holocaust history more thoroughly.

Out of that I wrote my second Gaza post. That generated even more hysterics. I have since researched the topic even further and I will get into my final conclusions about the Hitler holocaust below.

The millenium

What is interesting is what is behind Zionism. And, the strange turns Zionism has taken, in which it has developed an extreme variant, which is now in control in Israel and out of the control of the original creators of Zionism. It calls to mind the “Golem” of Jewish folklore, which inspired some versions of the “Frankenstein” story.

There is an old strain in Judaism, called by various names such as Sabbateanism or Frankism. It is a contempt and paranoia for non Jewish people, together with a dislike of other Jews for being in some way imperfect or impure. It has analogies in Puritanical Christianity and probably many other religious or cultural traditions.

Jews have long been experts at banking, brokering, and procuring businesses. As a persecuted underclass they would not have had the capital or connections to start these operations themselves. These were all developed in early times by Christian groups such as the Knights Templars and the Medici family.

When these kinds of harmful businesses became unacceptable in Europe, Jews as perpetual underdogs became the fronts for operating these businesses. They often had no other way to live. But over time they turned the tables on their persecutors, built powerful financial combines, and gained a powerful influence over international trade and finance.

There is a kind of industry in selling narratives about hidden sinister forces controlling history; Delphic oracles, Freemasons, Jesuits, ‘The Jews’. It is true these kinds of people are always around. They are never a monolithic entity, but are always struggling with each other, and with other powerful social forces, for power.

In modern times, western civilization developed a mercantilist empire which dominated the globe. This came to be ruled by a combine of banking and trading interests centred in London, England. They have come to be collectively called “globalists”.

Basically, these people are financial capitalists. They have developed great power by controlling banking, brokering, land and other key resources, and key utilities. They are not predominately Jewish, and the powerful Jewish Rothschild family is the exception.

These people have an agreement to not attack each other and to protect their common interests, and to further each others special interests. They have long believed that growth and technical progress is not in their interests. These people are now starting to rapidly lose power in the world, as the west loses dominance.

It is an old joke about the Rothschilds that they are allowed to be one of the main players on the Globalist system, and get to become Barons and Lords. However, they are never allowed to be part of “The Club”. They do not mix with the Christian “old money” of London, Paris, and New York.

However, at some point in the mid nineteenth century, the Rothschilds and some other wealthy Jews developed a common project with wealthy Christian Millenialists. Millenialism is the idea that the world will end somehow after a predetermined period. It occurs among Jewish as well as Christian religious people.

Some Millenialists have the idea that the Jews, the “Chosen People”, have to return to the holy land before something to do with the end time happens. Perhaps this is a golden age, or else a “rapture” in which God recalls the chosen back to heaven and destroys the earth. It is somewhat loathsome to delve into this religious twaddle, but is important for understanding the thinking of Zionists and so I will continue my attempts as I have time.

However it happened, by about 1870 the notion congealed among a section of the globalist elite all that Jews should return to the holy land. The Rothschild family seem to have been the ‘lead organizers’ for this but not the only enthusiasts. I have already described how this developed HERE.

The big shuffle

Now, as I have said, the biggest obstacle to developing a coherent narrative about how Zionism and the Israeli state developed, and how we have got to the present situation in the land of Palestine, is in rightly understanding the Hitler Holocaust. The Zionists are always frantic to prevent any objective examination of these events. If it is seen what they have really been up to, especially by Jews, they are finished.

I should thank the people throwing “antisemite” at me because, first of all, they seem to have increased my readership. They have motivated me to do some research into the Hitler genocide story and sharpen my arguments about it. I have already written one post about the Jewish holocaust and how it relates to the Gaza holocaust; find it HERE.

However, my little friends have shown me that my conclusions are not wrong but incomplete. I wrote one addendum making some corrections to the above cited piece. Here are my final conclusions about it and the Zionist thought police can can like it or lump it.

Most of these holocaust exaggerator’s argumentation is based on dubious eye witness stories and cooked population statistics. Trying to figure out the numbers killed or moved around by these historical events is really a mugs game. For example, I have found three sets of numbers on the “core” Jewish population in the USA.

The Zionist institutions do try to control this information. Their web sites always pop up first on search engines. Even with official censuses, there are problems with how you define a Jew; from people going around in Yarmulkas to someone whose grandma was Jewish.

I have achieved the following conclusions about the Hitler Holocaust. Between one and two million Jews died as a result of this project. Many were killed after the war ended, by local fascist gangs, when they tried to return home.

Most European Jews were uninterested in going to Palestine. About a million finally settled there after the British mandate ended. When it became obvious that no more were coming, the rest were released from the Displaced Persons camps to go where they wanted.

A large number moved to the United States, Canada, Australia, or Latin America. These were mostly from Eastern Europe. Western European Jews mostly returned to their previous homes, or had never left them.

340 000 Jews lived in France in 1940. 500 000 live there now. 500 000 Jews lived in Germany in 1933. 275 000 live there now.

Only a total idiot gives Soviet numbers about anything any credibility. However, it does seem that a lot of Jews lived in the Soviet Union, mostly in the far west of the country where they had been pushed by Tsar Alexander. Most murders of Jews occurred in those areas and were done by lawless fascist gangs.

In does seem that a substantial number of Jews whom the Nazis had moved from further west, settled down in Russia. The descendants of some of these would be among those who went to Israel after 1989. The “core” Jewish population of Russia is now about 300 000, and the other post Soviet countries are even more short of Jews.

If before I had small patience with the conventional narrative about the Jewish persecutions of WW2, I have far less now. It is a dirty, destructive lie kept in place by fear and conformism. After the Palestinians, the people most harmed by it have been the Jews themselves, who need to learn who their real enemies are.

No one, in the middle of a war, would take such a resource intensive approach to wiping out a large number of people. They would just kill them where they found them. The method of the Nazis shows the intent, not to exterminate Jews, but to uproot them, isolate them, render them destitute, destroy old belief systems and social relations through a traumatic experience, prior to moving them to a final destination.

There are two main purposes to creating this extermination story. One is to create a false guilt in western societies which enables the Zionists to get way with the ethnic cleansing of Palestine. The other is, to repeat, that if the Zionists ever let it be seen what they have really been doing, they are finished.

————————-

Like any quasi religious movement, Zionism over time has split into factions. Early on, the ‘labor Zionists’ differentiated from the ‘general Zionists’. They were often called Bundists and some of the more extreme elements among them carried out political assassinations which usually served only to generate official antisemitism.

Labor Zionists led in establishing the state of Israel. They were responsible for its early economic success, by creating a socialist economy. A strong state sector built up infrastructure. Strong social policies insured that surplus value went to improve living standards, not to an owner class. The Kibbutz system built an agricultural base.

Labor Zionists never supported a really imperialistic policy towards Palestinians. They thought that once a Jewish majority area had been established in Palestine, a Jewish state established, then the job was done. Arabs could have minority rights in the state.

The Revisionist Zionists emerged in the1920’s, after the British mandate and Jewish immigration into Palestine. They wanted a ‘Jews only’ state. Over time, and as they acquired power, they have become more grandiose.

The Revisionist Zionists might now rightly be called the ‘Religious Zionists’. They are talking about Israel extending “from the Nile the Euphrates”. They are talking about Palestinians as “Amalekites” and referencing passages in the old testament which advocate genocide against non Jews.

The Revisionists formed the Irgun militia during the 1948 war, which did most of the dirty work of the Nakba. The critical turning point in Israel was when the Revisonist Likud party first gained office in 1977. The last labor Prime Minister was assassinated in 1995 and labor Zionism seems to have lost most influence in Israel, while ‘General Zionism’ has almost disappeared there.

——————————

Jews inside and outside Israel have become very different. The ‘diaspora’ Jews have no interest in Zionism, or ascribe to ‘General’ or ‘Labor’ versions of it. They are increasingly waking up to what the Zionist project has become.

Even the Rothschilds seem to have become concerned about what they have helped to created. French President Macron, a straight out Rothschild agent, has demanded that Israel stop the bombing and has send humanitarian aid to Gaza. In most European countries, pro Palestine demonstrations are being attacked by police, but in France they are tolerated.

Most other western countries, including Canada, have been acting as though they are vassals of Israel. This has nothing to do with public opinion in these countries, or even Jewish opinion. The more people learn about the Zionist war on Palestinians, the more they oppose it.

Many observers have asked what the source is of the obsequiousness toward Israel displayed by western governments. Public opinion and collective guilt about the holocaust does not really explain it. To say, “the powerful Zionist lobby” begs the question of what it is that makes the Zionist lobby so powerful.

One of the dumber explanations for US support for Israel is that it is useful for controlling the ‘Middle East’ and its oil. Israel is not near any major oil fields or pipeline routes. American support for Israel complicates its relations with other middle eastern states, thus its ability to control the oil industry.

The iron control of global financialism over these countries is a much more useful explanation. It explains how the Israelis can shoot up and try to sink an American intelligence ship that seemed to have got in their way, and the Americans did nothing about it and tried to cover it up. Israeli agents move around the west, assassinating people and even hijacking uranium shipments, and meet no official objections.

It seems that “post turtle” type political leaders throughout the west are so conditioned to support whatever the Israel lobby wants, they cannot see the changes in recent years. They are far behind the publics of these countries, for whom the break has now definitely occurred. Globally, blind support for Israel has been a liability to western hegemony over the rest of the planet for a long time.

It seems that a split is developing within the Global Financial oligarchy. Some families are concerned about Zionism. The anti Zionist movement in western countries does seem to have some high level support.

Yet the core Zionists simply become more defiant and extreme. The motive for the Zionist elements in the Global Oligarchy to cling to its pet project does not seem to be rationally based. For Both Jewish and Christian Zionists among this elite, it is evidently a religious thing.

Suicidal nationalism

That Israeli Zionism has become religiously based is what makes it so dangerous. A large part of the Israeli population has developed the idea that they are a superior people who can do what they want, and are in some way invulnerable. Lesser peoples are “human animals”.

This makes Israel an extreme danger to Palestinians. An outright extermination could occur here. The world would not move fast enough to stop it.

Israel is a grave danger to other countries near to it. Its military is armed to the teeth and totally paid for by the USA. It has no respect for the sovereignty of countries around it and shuns any trade relations with them.

Israel is becoming overcrowded. Water supply has always been a problem in these lands. Israel does not have enough water for its growing population.

Zionist revisionist/religious fanatics increasingly cite biblical verses to make the claim that Israel must extend “from the Nile to the Euphrates”. The non Jews in this swath of territory are to be displaced or exterminated, their water and other resources seized. They do not expect any consequences for Israel from attempting to actualize this.

They have no military capacity to do this. Despite being lavishly equipped, the Israeli ground forces have, since the 1970s, been increasingly inept. What they have is a powerful air force. They have already been threatening to do to Lebanon what they have done to Gaza.

Besides the ability to reduce urban areas to rubble, killing much of the population in them, Israel has its nuclear force. Judging from the intelligence the Israeli political and military leadership have shown so far, they may be stupid enough to use them. Even with no other consequences, using them on neighbouring populations would contaminate the land they want to be sole inhabitants of.

However, doing this would likely bring a nuclear strike down on themselves. Russia in particular is known to have definite ideas about how it will react to any nuclear ‘first strike’ by anyone, on anyone. Israel’s recent behaviour is causing many of the countries around Israel to rethink their policy on nuclear weapons.

Pakistan already has them. Iran, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia could get them quickly. That is, the warhead and the means of delivery.

It is not hard to see a chain of events after Israel drops a nuke on a neighbour, leading to a general nuclear war. Some geniuses in the Israeli leadership have conceived the “Sampson option”. If Israel felt it was about to suffer a catastrophic defeat, leading to its dissolution, it would launch its nukes at everybody, or at least threaten to do so.

Even a small scale nuclear war, involving detonation of all of Israel’s weapons, would have a serious effect on the earth’s weather for several years. This would effect agricultural output, causing starvation in some parts of the world. It could render large areas temporarily uninhabitable.

Allowing Zionists to settle in Palestine, allowing them to set up a racially based state, and allowing them to get nuclear weapons, are among the worst mistakes humankind has made. How to dismantle the Zionist state without triggering the ‘Sampson Option’ is one of the major challenges for the world community.

A land without people

Finally, I arrive at the present situation. There are far too many pieces in play to make any predictions on how this war will turn out. Some things are evident.

There is no way Israel can eliminate Hamas without eliminating the entire Gaza population. They intend to either force them into Sinai or exterminate them. They seem too deluded to understand that the latter option would turn Israel into such a pariah state that it could not survive.

It is possible that the former option could be actualized. They are clearly forcing the Gaza population south, preparing to drive them into Sinai. Egypt would not tolerate this and it has a substantial army.

However, Egypt is troubled by a very large foreign debt and economic problems. If the economic bribes were big enough, it might be enough to induce it to bring the Gazans into Egypt. However, forcing the Gazans there and keeping them under control afterward would be a big problem.

Palestinian people know what happens to people who are forced off their lands in that part of the world. Many of them say they would rather die where they are and many of them mean it. As well, the Hamas militia will be very hard for Israel to beat.

Hamas has not even begun to fight yet. They seem to have taken very few losses so far, in men or material. They could likely hold out for months.

By some accounts, Hamas has told its allies to back off from attacking Israel for now. They believe they can deal with the situation on their own. There is some basis for their belief, as the war is proving so disastrous for Israel, militarily, economically and politically.

———————————-

The Hezbollah militia of Lebanon has engaged the Israeli army on its northern border. Much of northern Israel has been evacuated. Israel’s army is said to be doing poorly in this border skirmishing.

Hezbollah drove Israel out of Lebanon in 2000. They gave it another beating when it reinvaded in 2006. It has perfected the ‘tunnel war’ tactics which Hamas is now using.

Thus, the Israeli air force cannot do much about Hezbollah while it is on its own territory. It is uncertain how Hezbollah would fare if it left its bunker complexes and went deeper into Israel. Hezbollah also has a large rocket force which would saturate Israel’s air defences and devastate most of Israel.

Israel’s counter to this is its air force. Lebanon does not want a repeat of 1982, when Israel flattened much of Beirut. So, the northern front of this war is a standoff, for now.

Fighting is going on it the West Bank. Here, resistance forces have a much harder time but some groups are trying to give support to Gaza. Israeli reprisals against the population are increasing.

The situation gives cover for extremist ‘settler’ groups to accelerate illegal seizures of Palestinian land and property. Hundreds of civilians have now been killed, hospitals assaulted, roads torn up, and ‘pogroms’ carried out against Palestinian neighbourhoods. Preparations seem to be starting for an expulsion of West Bank and East Jerusalem Palestinians.

In Syria and Iraq, attacks on uninvited American military bases are accelerating. The clear intent is to force them out. With Russian clearance, Syria is now using its Russian supplied air defence systems to extend its defence zone against the Israeli air force.

—————————

Israel wants to hit Iranian Al Quds force operations in Syria. Iran and Al Quds has been the catalyst for alliance against Israel, providing weapons, funding, and training to resistance groups. It has got rival groups to settle differences and work together.

The mentally unstable president of Turkey has cut all ties to Israel and talks of soon going to war with it. Turkey has a very powerful army, navy, and air force. However, Turkey would be the loose cannon in any military alliance against Israel.

The most significant thing about the forces gathering against Israel and its American protector is the Russian break with Israel. President Putin’s family was greatly effected by the siege of Leningrad during the world war. He has spoken of how the Gaza situation reminds him of that event.

This breaks the last of Putin’s pro western delusions. Israel will never be an ally of Russia. Most of the Russian military and diplomatic establishment has been hostile to Israel for years and now Putin gets it.

Recently, Russia has begun to maintain an airborne nuclear force over the black sea. These are large MIG 31 jets adapted to carry hypersonic missiles with nuclear warheads. Their purpose is to attack American naval forces in areas around the Middle East.

This force has been ramped up as the Americans have moved carriers into the Eastern Mediterranean and to areas near Iran. The stated aim of this is to deter any other country from intervening in the Israel war in Gaza. The steps to a nuclear showdown between the USA and Russia are now clearly marked.

Iran has long been an obsession of Israel and the USA. It is not only outside their control but has a powerful military, potential to create a nuclear weapon, and has become a leader in missile technology. It has developed cheap, accurate missiles which could reach Israel.

Iran now has a missile force which could saturate its air defences and destroy it. Conventional warheads are becoming so destructive that, in some numbers, they could rival nuclear strikes. Iran has been selling its missiles very cheaply to it’s allies.

Iran has refused to create nuclear warheads, considering them immoral. This might prove a fatal mistake.

Israel has long been trying to get the USA to attack Iran. The Gaza war could be the pretext for that. Iran has long played a cunning game of building alliances and strengthening enemies of USA and Israel.

Iran will have to play this situation very carefully. It is succeeding in its aim of turning the world against the Zionist enemy and its western backers. The final piece to fall into place is to get Russia fully onside.

Other Arab countries which had been almost ready to ‘normalize’ relations with Israel, have now dropped those plans. Saudi Arabia in particular is demanding an immediate cease fire and delivery of humanitarian aid. It is reestablishing relations with Iran, setting aside the religious and other differences between them.

Qatar has long been a silent but effective part of the alliance against Israel. Its “Al Jazeera” news network is popular in the west and the best source of pro Palestinian news. It has used its great oil wealth to support Hamas and Hezbollah.

Internal opposition is developing against Zionist plans. The Israeli public is turning against Likud, which would lose office if an election were held. Relatives of those being held hostage by Hamas are not supporting the war, but demanding that their government cease fire and negotiate with Hamas.

Division is apparent within the Western elite over Israel’s actions. Major establishment media such as CNN and BBC are questioning the Israeli narrative. They have picked apart Israel’s very inept propaganda, such as massive Hamas command posts underneath hospitals.

In the west, there are now large street demonstrations calling for a cease fire. The Zionist tactics of aggressive counter demonstrations, shoving the opposition around, are not working. Zionist thugs are now greatly outnumbered and being shoved back.

Other attempts to silence pro Palestine narratives are failing. People being fired, denied opportunities, removed from social media, are being supported and are fighting back. The perpetrators are being outed and shamed.

There are legitimate worries that opposition to Israel can be coopted by growing Fascist groups and turned into attacks on Jews. So far, most antisemitic attacks have proven to be ‘false flags’ from Zionists. All this further demonstrates that Zionism has never protected Jews, but always endangered them.

War of survival

Hamas’ strategy in launching its attack was to provoke Israel into a massive overreaction, to defeat its attempts to gain acceptance from Moslem nations and to isolate the Palestinians. It has worked very well. However, the problem now is to survive the Israeli overreaction.

It could be asked if the huge damage, and loss of life and limb, among Gaza civilians is worth it. The point is, Gaza was facing annihilation to begin with. Israel was steadily making the enclave uninhabitable and there is nowhere else for the people to go.

The real options are to die quick or die slow. That is, to wither away like abandoned livestock in a desert. Or, to strike back, force a response, force attention to their slow murder, and so have a chance of getting some relief.

Hamas had developed a good defence force with help from its allies, Hezbollah and Quds force, and even elements inside Israel. It has managed to get plenty of weapons and ammunition through the blockade surrounding it. Much of it came right through Israel.

Israel has become a very corrupt country. There are also elements within it who want to end Zionism and find compromise with Palestinians. Among the recent Russian immigrants to Israel are many intelligence agents.

The Russian government may have seen Israel positively until recently, but elements in Russian security services have long had a different opinion. As well, many immigrants from Moslem countries have maintained links with their homes. Many of these oriental Jews feel discriminated against and are hostile to the European Jewish establishment.

The Egyptian establishment is hostile to Hamas. They identify it with the Moslem Brotherhood which was briefly in power in Egypt a decade ago, before they overthrew it. However, The Brotherhood is still powerful in Egypt, and sympathetic to the Palestinians.

Egypt maintains Israel’s blockade along its border with Gaza, even letting Israeli soldiers run the crossings. However, the secret tunnels under the wall between Gaza and Egypt are always busy. This really keeps Gaza alive.

It was atrocious

I could write enough about this complicated conflict between Zionism and the world to fill ten blog posts. This one is already too big. But it is impossible to predict how it will finally play out.

I will conclude this by debunking the exaggerations of the original Hamas attack into Israel. It has become clear that Hamas did not know a rock concert was being held near where they planned their operation. The audience got in their cars and fled away.

They were incinerated in their cars by their own air force. Helicopter gunship crews who responded to the Hamas attack were also unaware of the concert. They were slow to realize they were killing their own people, not a Hamas motorized column.

Other Israeli civilians were killed by the army when caught in a crossfire with Hamas. Of course the army then claimed they had been “human shields”. Many seem to have been shot as part of the ‘’Hannibal doctrine”; to kill people rather than let them be used as hostages, which the Israeli state must then bargain for.

By the way, there is nothing Zionists hate more than having to negotiate and make concessions. Also, their occupation troops frequently use human shields as a tactic to prevent attacks on them. Palestinians are grabbed off the street or out of their homes, and blindfolded and tied in front of Israeli posts or on top of vehicles.

Many Israeli civilians killed by Hamas in the raid had been carrying weapons and shooting at Hamas. Israel is the most militarized country on earth. Everyone, including women, are drafted. They then belong to a reserve force and keep their weapons with them. People there walk around with assault rifles like they are fashion accessories.

Hamas also killed several hundred Israeli soldiers who had been guarding the border. It seems they caught most of them in their sleep. The sensors along the frontier fence were not being monitored.

Some atrocities were committed by Gazans who were not part of Hamas. These came through the fence after it to loot Israeli property, and attack and probably kill some civilians. Many of these were killed when Israeli forces counterattacked.

The legitimate Hamas forces brought 240 hostages into Gaza to be used in negotiations. They released a few who were elderly and infirm. Neutral parties who facilitated the transfer were concerned that Israeli authorities seemed annoyed about it and were reluctant to accept them back.

60 of these hostages have now been killed in Israeli air attacks. There is a rising demand among the Israeli public to end the attack, negotiate with Hamas, and bring the hostages home.

States of delusion

Yet the war grinds on. Israel still claims self defence as a justification. This has no legal or ethical basis.

It is as if some 300 pound goon with a machete invaded the home of an old granny, to steal her goods and drive her out. She pokes him with a pen knife to get him to let go of her, so he lops her head off with the machete. Then, when charged with murder, he claims self defence because she was poking him with a pen knife.

Article four of the Geneva convention deals with occupations. Occupations cannot be prolonged. Civilian populations cannot be dislocated and new populations introduced.

A population under occupation has the right to resist by whatever means are available to them. The occupying power must leave. It has no claim to defence because it initiated the use of force.

People talking about a “two state Solution” for Palestine are deluded. It is the state with the Zionists in it which will have the firepower and strategic position. There must be one state in Palestine, with one army and equal rights for all.

Those who cannot accept that can leave Palestine and go back where they came from. This may sound hopelessly naive and impractical at the moment. The only way this is going to end is when a sufficient military force is assembled to defeat the Israeli and American forces and impose this one state solution.

The Global hegemony and the Israeli state are rapidly declining. Such an alliance of forces in the Middle East seems to be coalescing under Iranian leadership. This solution may not be far off.

Enough said.

  1. Thanks for sharing the results of your research.

Here is an article that could interest you.

Posted on nakedcapitalism.com October 19, 2023 by Yves Smith

(Interesting article. However, the editor of that publication filled in some gaps to what he wrote. The upshot is, the “two state” solution for the Palestine crisis is idiotic. There must be a Palestinian state from the river to the sea, with equal rights for everyone. Those who do not accept that can move back to where they came from.
What really needs to be looked into is why the Zionists have so much power. They seem able to override national government in the west.

If you are going to cite an article, you do need to put in a link to it which works. I have done that here. Cheers.)

Israeli flags are flying over all government buildings in the United Kingdom currently, but this isn’t the first time the former imperial hegemon has put its weight behind Zionism. In 1917, the British government issued the infamous Balfour Declaration.
This brief document—67 words—was a turning point in modern Palestinian history. It committed Great Britain to establishing a “national home” for Jewish people in Palestine. (The initial language promised a “Jewish state,” but was changed later.) The Balfour Declaration contained language that was meant to safeguard Palestinians, but we have seen how that has played out in the ensuing century.
FroThe British Roots of the Conflict in Palestinem World War I to 1948, the British ruled Palestine, the bulk of that time under a mandate issued by the League of Nations. The population of Jewish settlers in Palestine increased over these decades—particularly the 1930s—as the British government fostered their immigration. In 1922, only 11 percent of the population in the region was Jewish. By 1931, the figure was up to about 17 percent. By 1939, it was almost 30 percent.
At that point, the British government sought to limit any further expansion of the Jewish population in order to ensure stability in the region. But by then, it was too late—the facts on the ground had changed. What had been a region that was almost 90 percent Palestinian had become a contested land between two demographically numerous groups. Moreover, the British had confiscated land from Palestinians to hand it over to Jewish people and engaged in violent repression of incipient Palestinian nationalism. And in the 1930s, a British government commission recommended that Palestine be partitioned, laying the groundwork for the failed “two-state solution.”
In other words, this conflict is the product of specific imperial policies that were practiced in the first half of the 20th century to foster a colonial project. The “Jewish question”—Europe’s longstanding inability to adequately address its own antisemitism—was made into Palestinians’ Zionist problem by the British Empire.
One of the key features of British rule was to play different groups against each other. One of the key methods adopted by them over the course of centuries and a global collection of provinces was to study the social history of their subjects to manage the politics and play different groups against each other.
The support for Jewish migration to Palestine triggered resentment and mobilization by Indigenous Palestinians, eventually leading to the Great Revolt of 1936-1939. The revolt, which included a general strike and peasant uprising, was violently repressed by the British government in collaboration with Zionist paramilitaries. However, after the revolt, the British began to limit further Jewish immigration to the region, turning against the group they had supported in order to protect their imperial interests. This led to violent attacks by Zionists in Palestine.
Palestine is not alone in this fate. In region after region, the British used strategies of “divide and rule” to pit one people against another for the benefit of the empire. In British India, they pushed the Hindu-Muslim divide, sometimes favoring one population, sometimes the other. In Cyprus, they pitted the Greeks against the Turks. In Sri Lanka, it was the Tamils against the Sinhalese. In Ireland, it was the Catholics against the Protestants. The list goes on.
In all of these places, the supposedly “ancient” politics of intergroup conflict have persisted beyond when the sun set on the British Empire. There have been territorial divides based on ethnicity and/or religion. British India became India and Pakistan. Pakistan was then further subdivided into Pakistan and Bangladesh. Ireland was split up into the Republic of Ireland and the UK’s Northern Ireland. Cyprus is divided in two, and its legal status is still unresolved. In Sinhalese-dominated Sri Lanka, a 30-year civil war waged to establish a Tamil state, which ended in 2009 in a similar fashion to what we are witnessing in Gaza today. And in 1948, Palestine was formally partitioned, establishing a Zionist state and what was meant to be a Palestinian one, with the blessing of the former British rulers who oversaw the beginning of the Nakba.
Each of these places has been marked with violent conflict based on “ancient” hatreds that can be traced to the last one or two centuries. It is this commonality that firmly establishes that the British Empire policies are the root cause of the violence in these regions; there are simply too many instances of these conflicts being traced back to the empire to imagine a coincidence.
While the proximate causes of Israeli apartheid, occupation, and genocide clearly lie squarely at the feet of Israel and its chief sponsor the United States, the United Kingdom has a special responsibility to make right its historical sins in Palestine—and everywhere else. A minimal first step would be to work to stop the current genocide instead of waving an Israeli flag. But this—let alone reparations—does not seem to be on the table.
